What is the Wage Subsidy Programme (Program Subsidi Upah)?
It is immediate financial assistance to help employers who have experienced a 50% decrease of income since the 1st of Jan to retain employees with a monthly salary of RM4,000 or and below.
Requirements for the Wage Subsidy Programme
- Experiencing a 50% decrease of income since the 1st of Jan;
- Employees contribute monthly to the Employment Insurance Scheme (EIS) plan;
- Employees with a monthly salary of RM4000 and below;
- Employers must ensure that no worker is dismissed or forced to take unpaid leave for three months after the programme is implemented;
- Employers are not allowed to deduct employees salary
How to apply for the Wage Subsidy Programme
Employers can apply in PERKESO starting from the 1st of April
